He began his career as an actor and stuntman before ultimately transitioning to a very successful career as a writer, director and producer. His acting credits include recurring roles on PRISON BREAK and FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS as well as numerous roles in films and television including BOYHOOD, THE RINGER and THE ALAMO.

    Steve began his behind the camera career when he co-founded Cross Creek Pictures. While serving as Vice President of Development, Cross Creek financed and produced BLACK SWAN, THE WOMAN IN BLACK and THE IDES OF MARCH. Following his tenure with Cross Creek Pictures, Steve joined The Traveling Picture Show Company as President of its independent film division. At TPSC Films, Steve produced several successful films including The QUIET ONES, starring Sam Claflin, co-produced A WALK AMONG THE TOMBSTONES, starring Liam Neeson and executive produced JOSIE, starring Sophie Turner, THE DARK AND THE WICKED and AMERICAN MURDERER. Steve also co-wrote and directed the award-winning feature, DIVINE ACCESS.

    Steve has taken his extensive experience and success and applied it to create his new company, CHECK ENGINE FILMS. Based in Austin, TX, CEF will not only develop and produce original films and television, it will also offer production services for companies looking to partner. CEF’s first co-production, GARAGE DREAMS, can be seen on MoterTrend’s streaming channel and affiliates.
